ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance – three central factors to be noted when measuring sustainability and the impact of an investment in a company from an ethical point of view. Sustainability represents the potential to produce and consume within the regeneration capacity of the earth.
Variosystems is of the view that ESG factors can have a significant influence on the performance of a company. We acknowledge the increasing importance of the topic. A clear stance towards it is necessary, as well as reducing or mitigating risks by looking for possibilities to create values beyond financial income.
In the year 2015, the United Nations defined 17 objectives as part of a new agenda for sustainable development, to bring poverty to an end, to protect the planet and to ensure welfare for all. Variosystems would like to support the sustainable change that is necessary to achieve these objectives.
We at Variosystems see it as our duty to ensure every day that we are meeting our social responsibilities. This responsibility of a global electronics producer such as us goes far beyond the mere satisfying of customer requirements. It is elementary for us to on the one hand offer our employees the best possible working conditions and on the other hand to ensure customers that our supply chains and production processes are subject to the strictest sustainability criteria.
It is our understanding that handling critical materials demands a high degree of responsibility towards the environment. For this reason, we view conformity to law in combination with the respective ISO certificates not only as par for the course but as an absolute minimum condition. Our Lean management is therefore constantly working on a global level to make processes not only as efficient as possible but also as resource efficient as possible. These measures are supported by strict waste separation, recycling of packing and raw materials, as well as specially installed solar systems. The latter supply not only us but the surroundings with sustainable energy. These directives are set out in our Variosystems ESG Policy.
Around 2000 motivated Variosystems employees ensure every day that electronic components, wire harness solutions and system integrations are manufactured in the highest quality in the interests of our customers. In order to provide the best professional performance at all times, it is par for the course for us to create and ensure suitable framework conditions on a physical and mental level. Variosystems therefore cooperates with partners on site, with municipalities and politically independent organizations in order to promote positive social change. With our Swiss roots, we are aware of the responsibility associated with this privileged role. We therefore strive for the positive promotion of personal health, for the integrated social values of our employees and their environment. For this reason, we have set out a Code of Conduct that applies to each individual employee.
Due to the modular design of our solutions, our customers use the Variosystems service portfolio very individually. As a result, cooperation often turns out differently, from support in engineering, i.e. in the innovation area, to series production and end-of-life services.
