Update 3: Current impact of the coronavirus on Variosystems

Dear business partners

Enclosed you will find a current overview of our locations – the situation may change daily:

Steinach, Switzerland:

  • Production remains in a 2-shift operation at normal capacity.
  • All measures to protect from the virus are strictly observed during operation.
  • Wherever possible, work is done from home.

Badalgama, Sri Lanka:

  • Curfew has been extended until Monday April 06, 2020.
  • Production will remain closed until this date.
  • Entire supply chain is affected.
→ From today’s perspective, we assume that the curfew may remain in place until April 15. Due to the pandemic, the
government has enormous respect and is anxious to stop its spread. If the virus spreads as quickly as in other countries,
they do not have the facilities to handle the situation.

Southlake, USA:

  • Company is open and operating at 90% capacity.
  • Wherever possible, work is done from home.
  • The production has also switched to a 2-shift operation.

Suzhou, China:

  • Production has been ramped up and capacity utilization is at 120%, so the backlog should be made up by the end of May.

Ludbreg, Croatia:

  • Production is in operation until further notice.

General supply chain:

  • Securing the supply chain is currently the biggest challenge. Many shipments are affected and/or cancelled at short notice.
  • All locations are affected.
  • We are doing our utmost to find the best possible logistics solutions and to reorganize accordingly.

We would like to thank our employees for the great work they are doing and for their flexibility during this difficult time.

We thank you for your understanding and are available to answer any questions you may have.
