Update 4: Current impact of the coronavirus on Variosystems
Dear business partners
Enclosed you will find a current overview of our locations – the situation may change daily:
Steinach, Switzerland:
- Production remains in a 2-shift operation at high capacity.
- All safety measures are strictly observed and controlled during operation.
- Wherever possible, work is done from home.
Badalgama, Sri Lanka:
- After long and intensive negotiations with the government, we have received special permit to continue the production of defined Covid-19 medical devices. This special permit is bound to strict guidelines and is subject to strict controls.
- The curfew will be eased on April 27th, thus further production capacity will be available to manufacture industrial goods.
- We are planning a 3-shift operation to make up the backlog within the next 5 to 8 weeks.
Southlake, USA:
- Company is open and working at full capacity.
- Wherever possible, work is done from home.
- The production runs in a 2-shift operation.
Suzhou, China:
- Production has been ramped up and capacity utilization is at 120%. The backlog should be made up by the end of May.
Ludbreg, Croatia:
- Production is in operation until further notice.
General supply chain:
- Securing the supply chain is still the biggest challenge for all locations.
- Air traffic is heavily restricted.
- Deliveries from and to China are delayed up to 3 weeks.
- We are working intensively to find the best possible logistics solutions.
