Variosystems is a global electronics services platform offering end-to-end solutions from product design to complete electronic assemblies and devices, including engineering services such as obsolescence risk management, design-to-cost, and design-for-testing services. We provide best-in-class customer support by understanding our customer's requirements and bringing their ideas to life with our globally harmonized manufacturing capabilities in printed circuit board assemblies, wire harness assemblies, and box-build assemblies.

As a Customer Buyer, you are responsible for managing cost, availability and inventory for the materials of the assigned programs. This role focuses on the sourcing of material considering best costs, quality and availability.

Key Responsibilities

Project Sourcing: Calculate material costs, select suppliers, and design the optimal supply chain for assigned customer programs. Mitigate risks, define order quantities for critical components, benchmark prices, place POs, and manage delivery timelines in SAP (SCX).
Material Cost Management & Controlling: Deliver benchmark costs to support business wins, drive cost reduction initiatives, and manage cost development through preferred suppliers, benchmarking, negotiations, and alternative sourcing.
Supply Chain Management: Advise customers on optimal supply chain and sourcing strategies, manage all assigned customer materials including after-sales, and ensure the best pricing and material selection for customer projects.
Supplier Management: Select and negotiate with preferred suppliers, explore second sourcing options, expand the supplier network, and coordinate new supplier qualifications with QA and Global Procurement.
Master Data Maintenance: Maintain SAP master data for critical components (e.g., pricing, packaging, lead times). Reassign components to Factory Procurement when criticality decreases.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement from a recognized professional institute.
Minimum 3-4 years working experience in the relevant field. Experience in Electronics manufacturing will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication skills in English both written and spoken.
Should be a Team Player processing strong analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and project management skills.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, Follow through commitments and meeting deadlines.
Working experience in MS Outlook, Excel and Word is necessary. Hands-on experience with MS 365, Advanced Excel and an ERP system preferably with SAP will be an added advantage.
