Variosystems takes care of the mechanical design, you benefit from the advantages:

Flexible resources when you need them most

We provide experienced experts who integrate quickly into your existing projects. This gives you maximum flexibility to absorb peak workloads and respond quickly to new requirements—without building additional internal capacity.

Predictable costs instead of development risk

Whether targeted support or full development: you use exactly the services you need, from simulation and analysis to complete mechanical design and engineering.

Fewer iterations, faster time to market

Early DfMA analyses and simulation‑driven decisions significantly reduce late design changes and shorten development cycles.

Full transparency across design, cost, and feasibility

Structured information, clear documentation, and robust analyses provide planning certainty across all project phases.

Our engineering services in mechanical design

Mechanical design today goes far beyond simply creating parts. It has a decisive impact on manufacturability, quality, cost, and scalability of a product. This is exactly where our mechanical design services come in. We think mechanical design, electronics, and manufacturing together from the very beginning, creating early clarity around technical and commercial constraints.

This approach avoids unnecessary iterations, reduces risk, and enables sound decisions based on reliable data.

Our focus areas:

  • Development of mechanical concepts and system architectures
  • Creation of detailed technical drawings, 3D CAD models and assemblies
  • Design of housings, assemblies, and mechanical interfaces
  • Create and maintain bills of materials and mechanical specifications
  • Early evaluation of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes to optimize production costs
  • Technical consulting and support during design reviews

Designed for series production

A working prototype is only the first step. What truly matters is whether a product can be manufactured reliably and consistently at scale. That’s why we integrate prototyping as well as Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) directly into the design process.

Through close collaboration with suppliers and our global production sites, we ensure that designs don’t just work technically but are ready for series production, regardless of volume, product variant, or manufacturing location. This reduces ramp‑up and series risks and enables a smooth handover to production. In addition, we ensure structured development and lifecycle documentation, including revisions and change management.

We focus on:

  • Manufacturing‑ready design based on DfMA principles
  • Analysis of assembly feasibility and process robustness
  • Definition of CTQ and CTF characteristics
  • Failure analysis, root‑cause investigations, and optimization

Simulations that support confident project decisions

Thermal bottlenecks, mechanical weaknesses, or vibration issues often only become visible late in the process, resulting in costly design changes. Our simulation‑driven product development identifies these risks early.

Through in‑depth analyses, we create a solid basis for decision‑making, optimize designs in a targeted way, and increase technical reliability well before tool kick‑off.

We support you with our knowledge in:

  • Thermal analyses and heat‑flow calculations
  • Structural, vibration, and vibroacoustic analyses
  • CFD and airflow simulations
  • Simulation‑driven design optimization
  • Validation and testing

Variosystems is your partner for mechanical design services

Our mechanical design services combine advanced tools with deep engineering expertise. CNC milling, CNC turning, and additive manufacturing through 3D printing provide the technological foundation. Our engineering team also bring broad experience in processing metals, polymers, and composite materials, as well as manufacturing processes such as sheet metal forming, casting, injection molding, and extrusion.

In development, we work with SolidWorks for 3D solid and surface modeling, parametric and direct design, assembly development, and cabling layouts. This is complemented by structural, thermal, CFD, vibration, vibroacoustic, and electromagnetic analyses, as well as rapid prototyping. Product data is managed via PDM systems that enable version control and structured change management.

Our engineering approach combines DfMA, tolerance analysis, prototype testing, and systematic risk and failure analysis (FMEA/DFMEA) to deliver robust, cost‑effective, and production‑ready mechanical solutions.

Are you planning a new product or looking to further develop an existing design? Get in touch and send us your initial design documentation. Together, we’ll review your next project and develop the right solution for your requirements.
