Manufacturing Engineer - Industrial Engineering - Wire Harness (m/f/d)

We are seeking a skilled and forward‑thinking Manufacturing Engineer to join our Industrial Engineering team, contributing to the industrialization and continuous improvement of our production environment. In this role, you will play a vital part in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring “Built‑in Quality” and operational excellence across the full product lifecycle—from NPI to series production. You will lead technical problem‑solving activities, enhance productivity through advanced tooling and fixture development, and drive Lean, work‑study, and automation initiatives. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will help elevate process capability, minimize risks, and deliver robust, efficient, and compliant manufacturing solutions that meet both customer expectations and internal standards.

 

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Design and installation of Manufacturing facilities and processes that ensure an efficient production and assembly process according to customer and internal requirements and standards.
• Provides and realizes ongoing engineering support during NPI stage to ensure efficient Manufacturing execution. Provide 2nd level support for technical manufacturing problems in series production.
• Develop, improve, and maintain jigs, fixtures, tools, and production supportive machines/ equipment to enhance productivity and consistency.
• Analyze production processes to identify risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities then implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensures the “Built in Quality” in the manufacturing process and optimizes continuously based on feedback from RMA and Non-conformances in close cooperation with the technical specialists.
• Lead and involve in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, work study and problem-solving methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, internal procedures, and customer requirements throughout the manufacturing cycle.
• Support industrialization projects, capacity expansions, and technology upgrades, continuous automation to improve operational performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IPM, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and optimize workflows.

 

Required qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Production, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 1–2 years of experience in reputed large scale manufacturing or industrialization facility within electronics assembly or electro-mechanical production (wire harness experience preferred).
• Proven track record of driving Built-in Quality and continuous improvement within series production (experience in similar industries is an advantage).
• Proficiency in digital tools and engineering software such as SolidWorks/AutoCAD, EPLAN/ZW-CAD, ERP (SAP), MES (FLX) and Project management tools/Excel for data analysis are beneficial.
• Certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP/PFC/SPC, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 are considered added advantages.
• Prior exposure to industrial automation, test system integration, vision systems/AOI, and centralized dashboarding is a plus.
• Strong communication and training capability, with the ability to coach operators/technicians and able to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet production ramp-up targets.
• Hands-on experience or familiarity with DFM/DFA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Work Instructions/SOPs, Line balancing (Yamazumi), capacity planning, and takt/cycle time analysis is an added advantage.
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative team player with strong independent working skills and effective time-management abilities.
