Since launching with the iconic pandoretta°, POET has expanded its portfolio to include the portable poet-zero°, the reference system m-sinfonetta°, the 360° hanging speaker sky°, and the wall-mounted horizon°. says Markus Platzer, founder and CEO of POET Audio. This Austrian high-end manufacturer blends studio-grade sound with award-winning design. “Great sound doesn’t need to come in clunky boxes or with complicated interfaces,” Platzer explains. POET Audio systems are designed to be timeless – no gimmicks, just pure performance. That requires exceptional electronics – and that’s where we come in.
The poet-zero° is a fully integrated portable Bluetooth audio system with two-way studio technology and a built-in battery. POET designed the system entirely in-house. With all electronics housed directly inside the speaker, the demands on production quality are high. They needed a partner who could meet those demands – and after a successful PCB pilot, we’ve been manufacturing every unit since 2021.
Airtight precision for flawless sound
This is co-creation in action. POET Audio provides product specifications, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and functional prototypes. We take care of the complete device assembly – from PCB population to final housing integration. Given that all components sit inside the speaker, absolute airtightness is essential to prevent any sound distortion. “Even the slightest leak can lead to unwanted resonances,” explains Platzer. We hand-assemble every device, bonding softwood panels and foam elements using epoxy and hot glue to ensure complete sealing.
High-quality materials, expertly crafted
Assembly takes place at our Croatian facility – just a 2.5-hour drive from POET’s headquarters in Graz. This close collaboration is a key success factor. Even before production began, our industrial engineering team worked hand in hand with POET engineers to move from prototype to serial production, testing everything from adhesives to screws. “It’s not just about the PCBs,” says Platzer. “The entire package has to be perfect.” From outer panels to foam components, all materials meet the highest standards – because even the tiniest imperfection would affect the sound.
Efficiency through transparency
We use a one-piece flow method to ensure lean and controlled production. Each device is assembled in a single process with full documentation, guided by text instructions, templates, and photos. Every major step is confirmed in our system, with serial numbers and barcodes adding full traceability. These mechanisms improve manufacturing quality and eliminate the need for time-consuming end checks. As a result, finished poet-zero° systems can move quickly from production to the final sound check in Graz – and then out into the world.

I've been passionate about perfect sound since my teenage years and my studies in electrical engineering and physics. The problem is that traditional HiFi systems are often bulky and unattractive. There was a clear gap in the market for beautifully designed audio systems that also deliver great sound – and that’s exactly the niche POET Audio fills.

poet-zero° is a fully integrated system, with all electronics embedded inside the speaker. Every component needs to be perfectly aligned to achieve the best sound.
