From Idea to Impact: Insights from the Incubator Co-Creation Day 2026

On June 3, 2026, Variosystems hosted its second Incubator Co-Creation Day in Zizers, Switzerland. Under the theme “From Idea to Impact,” customers, partners, technology experts, and industry representatives came together to exchange insights on emerging trends, real-world projects, and new approaches to product development.

The event focused on the question of how technological ideas can be translated into market-ready solutions faster and more effectively. Presentations from Avnet, TGW, Variosystems, THE BLACKOUTS, and QuantalQ offered diverse perspectives on innovation processes and technology implementation. The program was complemented by guided production tours, engineering showcases, and networking opportunities during the apéro afterwards.

Co-Creation as the key to successful product development

One of the key takeaways from the Incubator Co-Creation Day was that successful innovation rarely happens in isolation. Instead, it emerges through close collaboration between customers, technology partners, and development teams. This is particularly evident in complex electronics and embedded projects, where early feasibility assessments, rapid prototyping, and a clear focus on future industrialization are critical to success.

The Incubator Co-Creation Day demonstrated how important it is to bring together development, manufacturing, and the customer perspective from the very beginning. This is how we create solutions that are not only technically sound but also scalable and market-ready,“ states Silvan Wüthrich, Head of Incubator Zizers.

Rapid Prototyping as a strategic accelerator

Another key focus of the event was rapid prototyping. Through this service, we help customers turn ideas into tangible solutions at an early stage, reduce technical risks, and make informed decisions based on real prototypes.

By closely integrating electronics, mechanical engineering, embedded software development, system integration, and manufacturing expertise, rapid prototyping becomes much more than a development step. It is a structured approach that enables teams to test functionality, validate assumptions, and align products with future industrialization requirements from the outset.

Key takeaways at a glance

The Incubator Co-Creation Day highlighted four major industry trends:

  1. Time-to-market remains critical. Fast decision-making is essential, without losing sight of manufacturability and scalability.
  2. Early collaboration creates clarity. Close alignment reduces complexity and helps identify technical challenges before they become costly issues.
  3. Technologies are converging. The boundaries between embedded systems, electronics, and AI are becoming increasingly blurred.
  4. Prototyping continues to gain strategic importance. It has evolved into a key tool for validation, decision-making, and industrialization.

From exchange to execution

With the Incubator Co-Creation Day, Variosystems continues to strengthen collaboration with customers, partners, and technology experts. The event demonstrates how initial ideas can evolve into real-world applications and how integrated engineering and manufacturing expertise can accelerate the journey from innovation to market readiness.
