PCB layout services for industrial manufacturing

EMC issues, tight space constraints, or layouts that are not suitable for series production can slow projects down. Our PCB layout services address these challenges from the start, transforming your schematic into a production-ready PCB layout. Technically robust, optimized for manufacturing, and tailored to your specific application. Signal integrity, as well as the electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements of the PCB, are at the core of our approach.

The result is a solution that can be manufactured reliably and cost-effectively. From component placement and routing to validated Gerber or ODB++ data, you get everything from a single source.

PCB design tailored to your product

Series production considered from the start

We develop PCB layouts that are optimized for their operating environment and can be seamlessly transferred into stable, cost-effective production.

High design and product quality

Constraint-based routing and structured design reviews ensure consistently high quality throughout the entire process.

Faster time to market

With a clear Design for Manufacturing (DfM) focus and optimized design iterations, we shorten development times and deliver robust designs while reducing overall costs.

From your requirements to a manufacturing-ready PCB layout

Our PCB layout design services cover the entire process, from technical consulting and feasibility studies to manufacturing-ready design. The goal is to make well-founded decisions early on and establish the basis for a PCB layout ready for series production.

During the early stages, we support you with:

  • Recommendations for cost-effective, manufacturing-ready PCB technologies, including DfM, DfA, DfT, and DfC optimization
  • Layer stack-up design consulting
  • Thermal assessments and preliminary EMI/EMC analyses
  • Component placement and concept studies

Based on the electronics design and defined schematics, we establish clear design rules that serve as the technical foundation for your customized layout. Existing schematics created in your EDA environment can be converted into a new PCB layout following an Electrical Rule Check. We analyze the layer stack-up, material selection, power distribution, component placement, and mechanical constraints in detail to identify optimization opportunities, avoid unnecessary iterations, and minimize risks before manufacturing.

Our BOM Health Check also assesses component availability and second-source options to reduce the risk of obsolete components at an early stage.

Smart placement and routing for high signal integrity

Based on the technical analysis, we first carry out strategic component placement. The layout is then developed based on the requirements, with a focus on signal integrity, thermal performance, EMC optimization, and other relevant physical effects. Our customers can review and evaluate each step of the process.

Our focus includes:

  • Structured component placement based on signal flow and current paths
  • Constraint-based routing for high-speed, power, RF, and mixed-signal designs
  • Definition of stack-up, impedance, and spacing requirements to ensure EMC performance
  • Compliance with relevant standards and design guidelines
  • Consistent data quality through maintained, IPC- and manufacturer-compliant design libraries
  • Design reviews

To ensure mechanical integration, we incorporate MCAD data from the mechanical design process into development. Based on enclosure and installation requirements, we perform fit and collision checks to identify mechanical conflicts during the layout development process. STEP files can be imported as well as provided for data exchange.

The results of component placement, routing, and analysis are incorporated directly into the layout. This results in a PCB design that ensures signal integrity, electrical performance, thermal performance, and functionality while remaining reproducible from prototype through series production.

Advanced PCB design for highly complex applications

Our advanced PCB design capabilities enable us to implement highly complex, space-constrained, and high-performance electronics.

We develop layouts for PCBs that combine mechanical flexibility, maximum component density, high currents and voltages, and high-speed yet sensitive signal interfaces on a single platform:

  • Advanced PCB technologies such as rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCBs for compact and mechanically robust designs
  • HDI (High Density Interconnect) layouts with blind, buried, microvias, and stacked microvias for maximum functionality in minimal space
  • Layouts for high-current and high-voltage applications (up to 100 A / 400 V)
  • High-speed and impedance-controlled PCB design to ensure signal integrity
  • Robust mixed-signal layouts in which sensitive analog circuits and high-speed digital logic reliably coexist

Based on all technical, mechanical, and regulatory requirements, we develop a deep understanding of your application and create the foundation for complex PCB layouts—from early planning through integration into the final product.

Agile development with integrated design and data management

We combine agile PCB layout development with integrated design and data management. We work with a version control and Altium Designer, or directly in your Altium 365 environment if preferred. In addition, we maintain an ERP-connected component database with validated parameters and 3D models. This ensures consistent and traceable data from design through circuit board assembly.

Before release, all Gerber or ODB++ manufacturing data is validated and prepared for production. This allows us to identify and resolve production-critical issues early and ensure a smooth transition into series production.

Q&A

Our PCB layout service follows a structured process, with you involved throughout:

  • Kickoff to discuss requirements and introduce the project team
  • Feasibility assessment and project proposal including estimated timeline and costs
  • BOM Health Check covering cost, availability, and lifecycle risks
  • Definition of stack-up, design rules, and constraints
  • Component placement with a collaborative review cycle
  • DfM, DfA, and DfT checks before manufacturing release
  • Routing supported by Design Rule Checks
  • Gerber file release and completion of the schematics
  • Production order and handover of all documentation, including Gerber or ODB++ data, drill data, pick-and-place data (CPL), BOM, and documentation

As an EMS partner, we handle PCB design, sourcing, and PCB assembly under one roof. This eliminates interface issues and allows factors such as panelization, testability, and assembly requirements to be considered directly in the layout.

The more complete the input data, the more reliable our effort estimate and project timeline will be. Ideally, we need:

  • Schematic from your EDA tool (e.g., Altium or KiCad)
  • A list of preferred components or a bill of materials (BOM)
  • Footprints and component libraries, if already available
  • Mechanical requirements for the enclosure or connector locations
  • Specific standards or certifications the product must comply with

If some information is not yet available, we will clarify it together during the kickoff. We routinely handle confidential materials under NDA and strictly protect all customer schematics, layouts, and intellectual property.

We work with companies bringing electronic products into series production, from Industrial & Automation and Medtech & Life Sciences to Aerospace & Defense, Smart Infrastructure & Environment, Mobility & Transportation, and High-End Consumer Electronics. Typical scenarios include engineering teams that need additional PCB layout capacity, existing PCB layouts that need to be updated for a new generation of components, or products being transferred from prototype to series production.

More than 130 engineers worldwide form the foundation of our engineering capabilities. With development and electronics production locations in Switzerland, Germany, Croatia, Romania, North America, and Asia, we combine close collaboration with scalable manufacturing capacity—from prototype to series production.

A flat rate for a PCB layout would not be meaningful because the effort varies significantly depending on the design. The key factors include:

  • Number of layers and stack-up
  • Design complexity, including high-speed, RF, or mixed-signal requirements
  • Engineering time required
