Enhanced collaboration with Asian suppliers

We have established a procurement hub in Asia to cover our customers’ material requirements in the long term. In future, this hub will give us global access to electronic components – in particular to active, passive, mechanical and electromechanical components.

Asia is a key source of the global electronics supply chain, with the major part of world demand being met by this region. To strengthen the security of supply at our production sites, we have therefore taken the very deliberate measure of setting up a procurement hub in Asia.

Easier access to original components

Our new Procurement Hub provides us with the requisite basis to satisfy international benchmarks. The hub is already fully integrated into our global production network. It supports us in intensifying direct relationships with our partners and by facilitating our access to original components.

«The opening of the hub is fully in line with our strategy to expand our local presence in Asia.»

Greater flexibility, faster delivery times

The Procurement Hub also ensures greater flexibility and faster delivery times within the Variosystems strategic supply chain. Stefan Walther: «One of our core concerns is to make targeted use of the innovative strength and flexibility of our supply chain in order to develop customized solutions for our clients. The Procurement Hub also acts as an amplifier.» This is especially the case in critical areas such as active and passive materials and mechanical components.

Regional presence fosters customer proximity and mutual trust

Trust and transparency are key prerequisites for building close partnerships with our suppliers. In this regard, the hub in Asia constitutes an important piece of the jigsaw puzzle. Martin Koch, Head Global Procurement: «With our local presence, we are also visible as a partner for regional suppliers, and the distances become much smaller.»
